Bons ou mauvais, la découverte de Rabelais à l’école nous aura laissé des souvenirs à tous. Gargantua et son fils Pantagruel, Panurge et ses moutons, les guerres picrocholines et la quête de la Dive bouteille, tout un tas d’images carnavalesques surgissent à son évocation. Celui aussi d’une langue dense, riche, où religion et philosophie antique côtoient jeux de mots et humour grivois. Youssouf Abi-ayad, qu’on a pu voir à la Comédie dans les spectacles de Christophe Honoré, concentre son spectacle autour de l’adolescence de Pantagruel et de la découverte de nouveaux mondes. Avec cinq interprètes au plateau, à la fois conteurs et personnages, Histoire de géants compose un voyage musical à travers l’ivresse des mots et les images renversantes de cet imaginaire débridé.
